Jack White Boston Concert reviews
Celtic Woman--Great Show
I liked this show even more than last year's performance. The women are incredibly talented and beautiful, as expected, singing like angels. Each woman spoke to the audience before a solo, sharing their love for B'ham and comparing the weather to Ireland. They also encouraged audience participation, creating a nice personal touch missing last year.
The band was fantastic, particularly the two percussionists. Chloe introduced a new band member, a world-class bagpiper who impressed. After the concert, he entertained outside the hall with a mini-concert, attracting a crowd for photos and autographs. He had to knock on the door to be let back in.
I wondered how much of the music was pre-recorded, hearing many strings despite only seeing a few instruments on stage. Mairead's fiddle playing was exceptional, surpassing Charlie Daniels. The backup singers created a surprisingly huge sound for a group of six.
I thought they might skip singing Spanish Lady, but thankfully, it was the encore. Their rendition of Billy Joel's Lullabye unexpectedly moved me emotionally, prompting me to text "I love you" to my adult daughter.
Highly recommend the Jack White---Songs From The Heart tour!
